For the Ears
Materials
5mm circular needle, plus another needle for 3 needle bind off
DK wool (something that says on ball band it knits up on 4 or 4.5mm needles)
2 stitch Markers
Gauge
4.5 stitches wide/6 rows high per 2.5 cm (an inch)
Pattern Notes (version 1.0)
For average adult head
Using two strands of the wool together
CO 80 stitches
knit 3-4 rows in garter stitch
Join ends and in the round until work measures 21 cm
Place 2 stitch markers, 40 stitches apart.
Whilst maintaining the stocking stitch
Knit past 1st marker, by 18 stitches, wrap and turn.
Knit 36 stitches, wrap and turn.
Knit past 1st marker, by 13 stitches, wrap and turn.
Knit 26 stitches, wrap and turn.
Knit past 1st marker, by 8 stitches, wrap and turn.
Knit 16 stitches, wrap and turn.
Knit past 1st marker, by 4 stitches, wrap and turn.
Knit 8 stitches, wrap and turn.
Knit to 2nd marker, repeat instructions as above.
Knit back to 2nd marker
Turn work inside out and do three needle bind off on the inside. Weave in ends.
Turn work right outside, flatten out, place a stitch about 12 rows and 5 stitches in from the peak of the ear. Tie the stitch off inside the work. This makes the ears more obvious.
