It’s almost an exact replica of the Bogytar by Vrubels, which amuses me. I like it when people play about with ideological images (in this case the construction of a national, ‘romantic’ past by Scotland and Russia), because…
Bogytar were medieval Russian knights (I may also have misremembered the spelling)
Vrubels was a late 1800’s artist, his most common images on the web are the virgin, and, the seated demon (which looks like a levis ad)
He’s certainly one of my favs, and I had the good fortune to catch an exhibition of all his works in Munich whilst on contiki. I remain very chuffed by that freak chance
