It did occur to me today, that I’m basically just throwing a giant temper tantrum cause I didn’t get what I wanted.
And that beating myself in public isn’t actually going to change that
Realising the depths of my petty patheticness, I’m just going to cringe in the corner for awhile now, out of embarrassment.

I’m going for a very very long walk tonight round arthurs seat, up arthurs seat and across the crags
Then I am going to go to sleep
And when I wake tomorrow I am not going to wibble, for one whole week
I can’t promise I won’t find another toy to throw
But I won’t give acres of text justifying/explaining/analysing it.

Off for my walk now
will walk onthe road round the back to scottish widows hq
then up to the top and then back across the crags
I expect to be gone for quite some time
I also expect it to rain
at which stage I shall call for heathcliffe
and wander home to die melodramtically of pneumonia
or not, depends

EDIT
so it was looking nicely metaphorical, deviated from route stated and went up arthurs seat when I reached the seaward side of it
looked back over the flat in kings road and my past memoryscapes of life in edinburgh
and remember that I can actually wait and it will probably all work out
Stopped at the top and looked out over the new bit of edinburgh I'm getting to know
decided not to do salisbury crags as would be pushing it for light
and went down arthurs seat the city side
So past on the other side, present at the top and heading off into the future
which I hadn't really done before and turned out to be a steep cliff, with only one way down
got lost and wandered to cliff edges twice in the failing light
Got down wandered home down the pleasance
was quiz night in the auld hoose, didn't go in.
came home, pointed out to gamer it had been dark for half an hour
and asked when he was going to start worrying about me being up there with a broken leg
he said i'd only been a way for an hour, I pointed out it had been closer to two
I think i'm going to abandon metaphors for this walk
so any way I came to a conclusion
i can wait
things happen in their own time
but i won't wait forever for things within my control
