Apr. 2nd, 2005 10:19 pmPopes dead
conclave soon, second one of my life time
and as a student of the Renaissance i'm kinda curious about this, as a echo of previous events and the present direction of the church.
in other deaths
I haven't posted about olivia not because I wasn't sorry to hear about it, but because I couldn't think of anything to say that others (and its the first time ever I have seen someones comments go over two pages) hadn't said and the subject of the passing of pets gives me mixed feelings and reminds me that one day I shall be burying my parents. The combination of art history and death of cats and popes makes me question my spirituality, i could very easily become catholic if the church moves in my direction. Mainly due to the knowledge base that art history has given me in the last ten years, and possibly also being born in catholic Irish.
And the first thing I think about is that I should treat my friends better and be there for them, ie not expressing my condolences over the death of of much loved pet to a much loved and widely respected individual.
