gamer posted our piece of sabotage, but didn't explain it very well
at the movies is a an automated ticket dispenser, you feed your ATM card or cash to it and it gives you tickets. However, it had crashed (or not been rebooted or sumthin) and was showing a normal desktop and is a touch screen. Mischief was inevitable. SO rather than trawl through and see if we could get ourselves free tickets for a life time we just set the screen saver (which wasn't on) to one minute (didn't pass word protect it though) and waited until the pipes started and left snickering happily to ourselves. SO I should really swing by and see if they've re set or if still comes on whilst the movie purchase programme is running.

On the whole Troy (not being terriably update on the Ilaid I could ignore the bits of altered story) was much better than Van helsing. Van hesling being one long fight scene, the first 20 mintues were good. Actually it was good up until Kate Beckinsdale turned up maybe her hair couldn't act (god knows theres enough of it to qualify for an extras role) and they cut any scene with dialouge. At least in troy i'd occasionally go why is orlando being such a wimp, oh cause his character is. (I felt a bit sorry for helen at that point who must have been cursing under her breath at the fact she couldn't ditch him now) the first few scenes were a bit ruined by having already read them in troy in 15 minutes, the urge to yell 'it's bromiar' was rather overwhelming. and yes I know thats not how you spell his name

Holidays

Holidays good, though the enforced week of not working since I got back is a bit grinding (more on that later). Venice was expensive, much the same and I still love it dearly. Myknos was really nice and hotel with green and pink decorative scheme, which works better in bright sunshine than not. We basically lay about on the beach, they had loungers and you could order marghertias from the bar.
Paros awas really nice, small nonpartying, not as developed, we took a trip round the island on the first day and did a walk on the second day. Have agreed in principal to make it the lounge around on holiday place. Then on Santorini which is ancient caldera, so we went on boat trip the second day. Which meant lots of looking up very very tall cliffs to the two cities it was has arranged at the top and the restraunts stapled to the caldera side. Is impressive view but didn't enjoy it as much. they also had greek version of pompeii, but is being rejigged for better tourist access at the moment so we didn't go.
I got lots of insect bites, a sun burnt nose (lotion on rest of face just missed that bit) got whipped at chess by alan every time we played (nearly had him when he hadn't had any sleep or coffee), ate lots of soluvaki (they make it with chips here) and bought a ring and a pair of boots (yay! the ones I'd wanted at the harley shop which they didn't have).

I rang Scottish Life on Tuesday and left message with Claire (the stupid 16 year old bint we have in our office) and whatever happened it didn't get back to James, but I was in there today anyway and looks like I'll be back some time next week (maybe even for more money). He asked why I didn't want a permenant job and I said they didn't pay enough which was better than saying I never ever want to have you as my boss.

Also dropped my application for Information Assistant at National Galleries of Scotland in today, as it was the last day and I didn't do it till last night ( I was on holiday and season 6 of buffy wasn't watching itself!!!). Please wish me luck for that, the pay is shite but I'd really like to do it for year. You don't have to post just say it out loud.

Seriously I've just discovered that don't do my model of levis in the UK. And they cost £60 over here anyway. So if someone wants to nip into Just Jeans and see if they do model 558 in a W32 L33 (or 32) in a dark blue or indeed any colour. It's a boot leg button fly. I will send them a cheque for £50 and they can buy them and either post them or give them TGJ to bring over and keep the money leftover.
Not sure what the exchange rate is but you should make about $20 on the deal.
