first day on job
Jan. 14th, 2004 12:34 pmon lunch break so you lucky people this will be a mercifully short entry
firstly moved yesterday, somewhat hampered by having to load boot via the passenger seat, but got most of stuff, will pick up rest on saturday (and books to).
am waiting for money before investing in masses of shelving, my room is about 6 feet shorter than my memory of it. It's going to be hard enough getting all my stuff in there let alone squezzing gamer in there for a few weeks. Hopefully with shelves and bed and stuff will be better, just full of crap at moment. I threw out so much useful stuff on the pretext of buying nicer stuff when I got back and no locker space doh!
Job - have been gazing mindlessly into space as one tends to the first few days of a job, until they've shown you enough to start giving you work and then you have to try and rember everything. Still they all seem nice enough am in old house on thistle st not big modern open plan office (which is different), so my room contains my team and not nearly 100 other people as well. It's very quite, so not much in way of talking. My bosses are jillan and james, coworkers jenna, ali (the wierd one I have yet to discover which flava), jodie (my mentor/buddy person to train me up) and a couple of others who I shall have to ask their names again tomorrow. they do DC schemes which I've only had bit of experience with, they were very grateful to know that I could final salary calculations though as one of their clients has final salary bit they didn't know about (also used to be PWC client, I remeber the name, it usually the way in pensions, you'll have worked with some one in the office or a client before.), have to go end of lunch
