I have a confession
I started something, I know, I know. It's supposed to be all about the finishing, completion.
One thing i've noticed about coming to the end of an item. At what point is it finished.
When you cast off the last stitch, when you've finished the last seam, tidied away the last end, put on the last button, blocked it, woren it, given it to the person you made it for?
Some things I wear, without having sewn the ends in, its a sign of a successful knit. That completed is not finished.
Completed is being able to be used for purpose, finished is putting on the final finish, the polish. These are most definitely not the same thing.
So today I finished something, a wee green scarf for our plushie, Rocky. I started it ages ago, it was yet another thing in a project bag. I had started it with a cable, the wool just doesn't take cables, and when its 16 stitches wide, they'd really need to pop. They weren't. So now it was a gentle pattern on it. He just needs a matching hat now.
Of course having finished this simple little thing, I no longer have a bus project. What! bus projects are a thing, small enough to stuff in your handbag and easy enough to stop and start. This is why we have so many projects, they outgrow their niche and like the health care system, they go on a different waiting list.
So have a picture of Rockys scarf and the project (Vertices Unite, yippeeee!!!)
